Norfolk's Luke Abbott was one of the many special artists set adrift after the unfortunate demise of the legendary Output Recordings, and we gladly welcomed him into the Border Community family for the release of his musically ambitious Tuesday EP followed by the domineering, unrelenting Whitebox Stereo. 2010 saw the unveiling of the lush organic textures and pagan hypnotics of Holkham Drones, Luke's debut ever-so-slightly-wonky longplayer that takes its name from a beach on Norfolk's uniquely northern stretch of coastline, punctuated by hedonistic highlights like single Trans Forest Alignment and the eerily enduring Brazil. Luke is no stranger to the live circuit, and has recently adapted his analogue-heavy home set-up into a mobile club-friendly set of dance music in the loosest possible sense to help us drag dancefloors (and beyond) kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

Building on the promise of her debut album for Switzerland's Mental Groove back in 2006, Swiss-born, half-Tibetan self-producing avant-garde singer-songwriter Kate Wax has now teamed up with Border Community to unveil her bold new collection of dark, unconventional electronic post-pop going by the name of Dust Collision. The Kate Wax live experience is an intimately physical fusion of her machine-loving electronic mastery and her soaring free-soprano vocal flights, supplemented by a supporting cast of live bass and stylish new complementary light projections.

Roving Canadian troubadour Jake Fairley put on his Fairmont alter-ego to join the Border Community and deliver up the lovable club monster Gazebo, which has since taken on quite a life of its own. But it was with his Coloured In Memory album of 2007 that we saw the artist really step out from the shadows, putting his own personalised spin on the melodic electronics concept with an intimate and personal collection of idiosyncratically danceable hits (delightfully wonky singles Flight Of The Albatross and I Need Medicine, for example) nestled amongst a warm and fuzzy home-listening bundle, which Jake translated into a suitably lush and krauty vocal analogue-electronica show for the live forum. As his vocal outpourings now begin to slowly crystallize into an eagerly anticipated follow up album, Fairmont affirms his prevailing vocal tendencies with a dancefloor friendly interim release of truly epic proportions: let the lush harmonic synthscapes and murky, gothy atmospherics of the Velora EP envelop you like a soon-to-be-favourite jumper.

Already homegrown heroes in the club scene of their native Italy with several releases on their own Margot Records label already under their belt, Margot have now teamed up with Border Community for the release of their headline-grabbing France 2 EP to begin to spread their 21st century Kraut-dance message across the rest of the world. Italian club veterans Pepe and Giaga Robot have never looked back since coming together to form the Margot duo, combining their individual respective experience as a DJ and live act to develop a unique and thoroughly modern dancefloor fusion of the two usually distinct disciplines.

Acid house obsessive Avus gently flexed his muscles with his first installment for Border Community, the low-slung bassline action of dancefloor workout Real, before returning with a rather more brash musical statement in the form of the deliciously raw feedback frenzy of Furry Hat. His eagerly-anticipated return to the label takes the form of the Poppy EP, the heartwarming story of one man's love affair with his new Moog synthesizer, delivered in four lush syrupy analogue movements. Avus is also an accomplished DJ with a lengthy UK club pedigree (including a resident slot as warm-up man at the former Border Community nights at The End) whose reliable productions are currently propelling his DJ career onto a global platform encompassing all of the usual European suspects as well as Japan and Mexico.

Our favourite daft duo The MFA joined us early doors to release the sublime The Difference It Makes, which was subsequently given the Cologne stamp of approval when it was licensed by Kompakt Pop. Since then, they have also added the equally legendary BPitch Control of Berlin to their list of fans, as well as building up a bit of a name for their MFA-rave-party live sets across the world. 2009's We Will Destroy You saw The MFA back on top pop form, channelling the spirit of classic New Order and infusing with their own melody-rich untouchable dancefloor charm.

When Nathan Fake moved into the Border Community for his debut release Outhouse, he may have appeared to be heading off along the tried and tested European techno trail; but as he was quick to illustrate with the psychedelic epic The Sky Was Pink (prior to the monstrous Holden remix), there are many more strings to this young rabbit's bow. Debut album Drowning in a Sea of Love (which also featured the lighters-in-the-air anthem You Are Here) was the perfect excuse to take his rich treasure trove of synth-rock gems on the road, but recent live sets have evolved into a much harder take on the electronica brief, perfectly inkeeping with the unstoppable uber-producer's assured and confident Hard Islands mini-album return.

25 year old sonic explorer Wesley Matsell from Merthyr Tydfil in Wales recently teamed up with us here at Border Community to unleash the Schaffel-Rave-Monster that is the mighty Bernwerk on an unsuspecting world. In commemoration, Wesley may be tempted into the odd spot of DJing if you ask nicely enough, which you can expect to be as ridiculously eclectic as his wide-ranging influences and output might suggest.

From his coastal town in Chile, Ricardo Tobar began to make waves around the world with his El Sunset debut, where his considerable melodic talents were clearly on display. A second forthcoming EP on Border Community and the obligatory boundary-pushing live club set recently debuted in his native Chile promise to further this mission to fuse noisy, punky genre-busting electronics with heady, uplifting new-shoegaze.

Sicilian-born, Quebec-bred first lady of techno Misstress Barbara surprised many when she served up the joyful, exuberant and hypnotic melodies of Barcelona for her Border Community debut. And Barbara continues to keep the world guessing as she takes to the mic to prepare her vocal-driven debut artist album, as well as running her own Iturnem label and performing a hectic international jetset schedule of DJ dates.

The abbreviated form for Border Community's founding father James Holden, who kicked off proceedings with the genre-defying melodic anthem A Break In The Clouds, before coming of age with his twisted debut mini-album of next level music-for-dancing-to The Idiots Are Winning in 2006. James Holden is a man of many talents: label boss, trend-setting producer, hugely in-demand monster remixer, and on top of all of this he finds himself at the head of the pack of that very modern breed of DJ, exploiting new technology to the full in order to bring his unique musical vision to life by brazenly uniting tracks from music's past and present, regardless of scene.

The skinny urchin from Stockholm arrived in the Border Community in fine style with his bumper Six Songs EP, featuring a little something for everyone in amongst this six track fusion of his eclectic influences in his own inimitable Petter way. Then with the genre-busting bass driven rave of Some Polyphony he gratified DJs everywhere with quite a lesson in how to make a club go off - something which he knows plenty about from his own astounding live sets. Petter is also one of our favourite DJs, and over the years has developed his own brave new distinctive blend of twitchy tech-funk eclectica that is a real breath of fresh air.
