Bank Holiday Bonuses

I trust that you will be kicking off your August Bank Holiday weekend with us at Ginglik, where the faithful will convene on Thursday 26th to celebrate the release of Luke Abbott‘s Holkham Drones debut album in the company of special guests on loan from Kompakt, Walls. With an additional live set from Luke’s go-to video man Michael Page (whose sounds you may remember from the quirky audio-visual remixes of Melody120 and Whitebox Stereo) and DJ-sets-with-a-difference from James Holden AND Nathan Fake all for the bargain price of £5, there really can be no excuse. Get your tickets here now to make sure you don’t miss out, as capacity is limited.

The next day we will be dashing off for a cheeky Ibiza break scheduled around James’ only white isle appearance this summer, popping in for a We Love Sundays At Space session on August 29th, alongside Ewan Pearson, The Mole, Paul Woolford, Joris Voorn and some mystery special guests still to be announced (don’t ask me, I don’t know either).

But if you aren’t lucky enough to be joining us (oh the humanity), I have found the perfect London-based alternative Sunday night entertainment for you: the Eastern Electrics August Bank Holiday 2010 shindig, where some of Germany’s finest forward thinking techno – more Kompakt goodness from Michael Mayer and Thomas Fehlmann and East German cuddliness from Robag Wruhme and the Wighnomy Brothers – collides with London’s current dubstep-directed inclinations, on this occasion fuelled by Joy Orbison, Scuba, and regular Mixcloud botherers Sketchy and Another Amit. Resident Advisor has got the ticket goods for £15.
